Let’s make sure you’ve got your travel game on point!

First Stop: Belgrade Airport

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is where the adventure begins. Lots of airlines fly here from all over, so nab your tickets early for the best deals. I always book flight through booking.com but no matter what your favorite is – act fast and book your Exit festival flights on time. Search flight here.

Also You can arrange transfers from airports located in Zagreb and Osijek (Croatia), Budapest (Hungary), Timisoara (Romania), neighboring countries with Serbia.

Next Leg: Belgrade to Novi Sad

Now, how to get from Belgrade to Novi Sad (100km/60 miles distance)?

Here are the options:

By Bus

Jump on a bus for a comfy 1.5 to 2-hour ride. You can purchase your tickets in person when you get there.

You’ve got a direct bus from the airport to the bus station, but it runs only once every hour. So, you might end up waiting a bit. If you’re in a rush, there are official taxis, but they can be pretty pricey.

By Train

Trains also run to Novi Sad, taking about the same time. Plus, you can grab tickets in person there. Public transport’s an option, but it’ll eat up your time, and with the scorching heat, it’s not ideal.

Your best bet, and not too pricey if you split costs with friends, is the private transfer. But here’s the deal: taking the bus or train involves a lot of messing around. Keep in mind, the distance from Belgrade to Novi Sad is only 60 miles, but with all the public transport nonsense, it could easily take 4 hours.

From the airport to the bus station, then to Novi Sad station, and finally from Novi Sad station to the fortress, you’ll be dealing with public transport, hot weather, and loads of waiting… so plan accordingly.

Or simply pick a car option.

By Car

Skip the car rental hassle, especially with EXIT time madness in Novi Sad. Trust me, worrying about car theft is the last thing you need.

Opt for a taxi or other organized transport instead. It’s just an hour’s cruise on the E75 highway, and you’ll be glad you avoided the stress. Consider booking through Viator for the most hassle-free option. They can easily organize to suit your group size, accommodating up to 8 people.

Taking the bus or train could cost you three or more hours with all the transfers and using public transport. But with this option, even if you bring cold water, it won’t warm up until you reach the EXIT location. That’s how quick it is – just a little over a 1-hour trip. They will wait for you at Belgrade Airport Nikola Tesla and take you wherever you want in Novi Sad. Book private transfer here.

Here is the map so you know where you are going – From Belgrade Airport to EXIT Festival

Quick tips for the road:

  1. Plan Ahead: Don’t wait until the last minute, especially when everyone’s rushing for the festival.
  2. Check the Rules: Make sure you’ve got all your papers sorted, from visas to any other requirements.
  3. Nab a Nest: Book your stay pronto; places fill up faster than you can say “EXIT Festival!” Book hotel on time.

With these travel tricks up your sleeve, you’re all set for an epic journey to Novi Sad. Let the good times roll!

What to Wear

When heading to Exit Festival, you march to the beat of your own style drum, and that’s awesome! I won’t dictate what you should wear because it’s all about expressing yourself. Exit is renowned for its vibrant and trendy fashion scene. Here’s what you should consider to ensure you have a fantastic and comfortable time:

First things first, Exit Festival takes place in a nearly 250-year-old fortress, so be prepared for some rough terrain. With thousands of steps and uneven stones, comfort is key. And let’s not forget about the possibility of rain, which could make things messy.

Don’t forget your shades, and maybe even pack a spare pair. The daytime sun and the crazy light effects at night call for eye protection. A hat or cap is essential to shield yourself from the sun, and don’t skip the sunscreen. While masks aren’t the coolest accessory, a bandana can keep dirt at bay, especially in areas where the ground gets dry and dusty from all the dancing.

When it comes to footwear, keep in mind that you’ll encounter hundreds of stairs, and these aren’t your typical modern steps. We’re talking about stairs that have been around for 250 years and have seen their fair share of wear and tear. They can be rough and, let’s be honest, pretty nasty, especially when you’re in full party mode.

The last thing you want is to deal with blisters or sore feet. So, make sure you choose footwear that’s not only comfortable but also durable enough to handle the rugged terrain of the fortress.

Exploring Novi Sad (Things to Do Outside the Festival)

EXIT Festival might dominate your itinerary, but Novi Sad offers a treasure trove of experiences beyond the music. Here’s a glimpse into what awaits you:
